Theology of Water
Theology of Water
Dear Friends,
I hope you found our week’s worth of devotions on seeking justice stimulating. We now turn to a series looking at theological understandings of water written for us by the Revd Dr Seoyoung Kim. Seoyoung is a Lecturer in Applied Theology and Ministry Placements Programme Lead at the Belfast School of Theology. A minister in the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea, she serves on the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches and holds a Certificate of Eligibility to serve on our Roll. Seoyoung is an ecotheologian specialising in the theology of water, she received her PhD from the University of Manchester.
Over the next two weeks Seoyoung will guide our thinking about various Biblical images of water and the theology that arises from those passages. As Seoyoung notes these reflections “are not lessons in doctrine, but meditations that move with the flow of water, tracing its path through creation, promise, and renewal.”
I hope that, as we flow with these reflections we may find our discipleship strengthened.
With every good wish
Andy
