THE GRAPEVINE – NOVEMBER 2024
“We will remember them.” I always rely on The Royal British Legion for the lovely poppy photographs on the front cover of our November issues and hope that I choose a quotation to go underneath that does the image justice. In this issue, our minister has listed those remembered in the War memorials from Hersham, Walton and Weybrige with some background about their all-too- short lives. We mourn the loss of a friend and celebrate a marriage, birth and a 90th birthday. There is a double-page spread on our Harvest Festival and an amusing account of the trials and tribulations of our Treasurer (Part 2). We are reminded of the extreme hardship faced on a daily. basis by our ArtPeace friends who use hand-tools to dig pits and extract large rocks for their work – a super-human effort. This gives us cause to value even more the beautiful and thoughtfully worked sculptures that they turn out. We also have some interesting Eco items that give pause for thought. I hope you will enjoy this issue.
