THE GRAPEVINE – APRIL 2025

Looking forward to Easter, we have details of our various services on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday, when we bring a flower to the service so as to transform the Cross of horror into a Cross of beauty.  The minister’s pastoral letter speaks of chasing gloom and grief away and replacing it with hope.  We hope you will enjoy the poems included by popular request.  We recommend inviting a friend to our monthly People Who Lunch and you can see photographs of just some of the tasty morsels you can enjoy along with the opportunity to catch up with friends and to make new ones.  Our ArtPeace friends are currently struggling even more than usual with no money to top up their mobiles so they are less able to keep in touch with us and to send photographs;  most of current donations are being saved to pay for an important course that will set them up for the future. However, the good news is that their crops look healthy and should yield a good harvest in April, barring an unforeseen disaster.   There is a short item on the Women’s World Day of Prayer and an interesting piece on the debate on the finer points of theology  between the Vice-President of the USA and a major UK political influencer.  Next time, amongst other things,  we will be covering the Easter story in words and photographs, as played out in our church.
