The 12 Days of COPmas
The 12 Days of COPmas
Dear <<First Name>>
I hope you have found the reflections on selections from the Book of Proverbs both interesting and useful; it’s a book often overlooked in our churches yet much of the wisdom contained in it is still relevant to our daily lives of discipleship today.
Tomorrow we turn to a new series to accompany the 26th ‘Conference of Parties’ (COP26) held here in Glasgow. Tomorrow this United Nations event, delayed from 2020, will start. It is an opportunity for representatives from around the world to report on their updated policies and successes as they attempt to halt the climate crisis and environmental disaster which threaten not only the most vulnerable human beings, plants and animals but our very existence as a species.
As COP26 unfolds over the next twelve days, some of the URC’s Green Apostles and other voices for climate action have written Daily Devotions on environmental issues that we hope will inform, inspire and stir you to pray and take action. Our theme is ‘The Twelve Days of COPmas’, where we each consider a gift we would offer to our ‘true love’, the Earth, and which Jesus offers to us now.
with every good wish
Andy
