THE GRAPEVINE – NOVEMBER 2025
Welcome to November! We have a vibrant Poppy front cover photograph for Remembrance, as in the past, thanks to The Royal British Legion. Our minister’s Pastoral Letter is the second and final part of reflections on his ministry over the years and looking – sadly for us – at retirement in December. We have notice of various pre-Christmas events, including those for Remembrance and carol concerts, one at the Chapel of St Peter ad Vincula, HM Tower of London, in support of CURE in its mission to provide life-changing surgical and spiritual care to children with treatable disabilities. There is an article in celebration of our joyful Harvest service, where we enjoyed the special atmosphere of a full church with the uniformed organisations taking part. We stay up to date with our Eco Church journey. In addition to our usual ArtPeace article, – this month including a celebration of the achievement of some of the artists who have completed a three-day course ‘Foundations for Farming’ to help them work with sustainable farming in the future – there is a heart-warming contribution from Sara, who was gifted with a beautiful cross sculpted in semi-precious verdict hewn from raw stone carried down a mountainside from a trip to a mine in Kwekwe, Central Zimbabwe, last year, on the occasion of her Licensing as a Lay Minister in the Church of England. There are, also, some encouraging and thoughtful words chosen for the season in Prayer Corner. Please read and enjoy!
