THE GRAPEVINE – MAY 2024

O the month of May, the merry month of May, So frolic, so gay, and so green, so green, so green!” So begins the poem by Thomas Dekker, an Elizabethan dramatist.   May is a busy month in the Church’s calendar.  Christian Aid week begins on 12 May and we have an article about its work and how we can help push back against poverty.  Then there is Pentecost, which we think of as being the Church’s birthday.  We tell our Easter story through our Easter services, illustrated by evocative  photographs.  There is an informative piece on our local Elmbridge ECO Hub.  Also we. have early notice of a Flower Festival to be held in the church on 10/11 August (all offers of help welcome!).   A one-off article tells of an unforgettable experience on the part of a member of the congregation whose TV debut was an appearance on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ programme featuring the Silver Swans  (ballet for older learners).  More sculptures by ArtPeace have arrived – the quality gets better and better – and are for sale in The Gateway.  We hope you will enjoy this issue.
